Let Them Praise is a vibrant setting of Psalm 148 for two-part chorus, organ, and handbells (or chimes). Much of the work is cast in Rosner’s beloved irregular meters (such as 5/8 and 7/8). A slower, cantorial middle section leads to a reprise and a final extended Hallelujah section. The Hallelujahs are stretched further into a 5/4 meter to reach a grand climax. It was originally written for treble chorus, but the composer notes that it may also be performed by men’s or mixed choruses. (Notes by Carson Cooman)
