These light orchestral dances were inspired primarily by Elizabethan models as well as the pastoral music of early 20th century English composers.

The work is one of Rosner’s easier orchestral pieces (with generally homophonic textures and straightforward rhythms) and is thus highly suitable for student or community orchestras.
